Theatrical performance of "On aurait pu dire quelque chose" ("We Could Have Said Something"), as part of International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against WomenMonday 25 November 2019, at 6 pm Théâtre Princesse Grace
From 2.30 pm, the Globe Théâtre company will be staging interactive theatrical performances to encourage adults and teenagers to consider the issue of domestic violence. Using the theatre as a forum to raise awareness, forewarn, open up dialogue and put an end to violence against women.
The performance will feature two mini-plays of three scenes each based on the topic of physical and psychological domestic violence. They will be followed by wordless scenes set to music, considering the process of harassment and bullying, asking forgiveness, and physical violence. Finally, one last short play will depict two teens, Léa and Mathias, cut into several scenes on the issues of meeting on social networks, the consequences of lying, the importance of saying no, and most importantly taking no for an answer.
How does the theatre forum work?
The actors perform a play once. It is then performed again, and the audience is invited to participate, replacing the person in difficulty, offering new replies in an attempt to resolve the issue. One of the actors leads the way and allows the rest of the cast and the audience to communicate, guiding the debate forward and ensuring that the audience is ultimately able to settle the conflict. The idea is to improvise based on a particular problematic situation.
