U Sciaratu, the Summer Carnival on the Rock, is back for the 7th
time. This Carnival has become an
unmissable summer event, and promises to be very colourful. The theme this year is Mexico.Friday 20 July 2018, from 6 pm to 1 am Monaco-Ville
It is almost twenty years since U Sciaratu, the king of the
Monegasque carnival, gaily took the alleyways of the Rock by storm. In July 2011, after the Medieval
Festival had been held several times, the Entertainment Department of Monaco
City Hall brought this convivial tradition up to date by offering a modern
version of Festivities in Monaco-Ville and its Sciaratu, on the initiative of
Jean-Marc Deoriti-Castellini, who was then Deputy Mayor responsible for
Entertainment.
This year, Monaco City Hall is offering a return to the
events' roots with a parade of large floats, specially designed for the
occasion, street parades, varied entertainment and musical troupes in the
alleyways of the Rock. And, in
line with tradition, the festivities will end with a big party in the Place de
la Mairie.
The programme features processions of floats, parades, street
entertainment, musical troupes, activities and much more ... from the Place du
Palais to the alleyways of Monaco-Ville.
Times for the procession of floats:
- between 6.15 and 7 p.m.
- 7.45 and 8.30 p.m.
- 9.15 and 10 p.m.

Place de la Mairie
