Novelist, essayist and lecturer Belinda Cannone teaches comparative literature at the University of Caen Basse-Normandie.
"What if we tried to defend a radical kind of feminism, that would not allow any inequality, whether social, domestic or professional, while taking care to preserve the fragile areas occupied by desire?
Morals are changing, and the #MeToo movement is a great step forward in our understanding of the relationship between men and women. What if we firmly rejected the complaints of a victim ideology which have invaded the social domain, and particularly feminist discourse, in favour of a joyous and responsible feminism? What if we were to realise that, in everyday life, gender is very often 'suspended'?"
