Russian Gala – The Stars of Russia Opera are Performing in Monaco
Following last year's focus on ballet, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco is playing host to some of Russia's leading singers at a unique concert on 3 August
This year, there's a new look for the "Russian Gala" – opera will take centre stage.
Some of the greatest singers from Russian opera will perform at the Grimaldi Forum's Salle des Princes.
The audience will have the privilege of hearing some of the leading opera stars, including Maria Guleghina (soprano), Alexey Markov (Baritone), Veronika Dzhioeva (soprano) and Vladimir Galouzine (tenor), not forgetting Ekaterina Sergeeva (mezzo-soprano) and Dmytro Popov (tenor), in a repertoire from the great classics.
Mikhail Agrest will conduct the Philharmonic Orchestra of Nice. The organisers hope to repeat the success of the first Gala and showcase the vitality of Russian culture.
