Chapelle des Carmes

The Chapel of the Carmelites is situated between the Rousse-Saint Roman quarter and the Larvotto.

The church was designed by the architect Fabrice Notari. The consecration of the new Church took place on April 28, 2002, at the 54 Bd of Italy, exactly in the same place that occupied the previous church.

Its dimensions (18,30 meters in length x 10,60 meters in width) are smaller than those of the first church.
It was dedicated and placed under the patronage of Saint Therese of Lisieux (Saint Teresa of the Child Jesus) and following the nominative tradition of yesteryear, it is also known by the faithful as the "Carmelite Chapel".
The forms of the Church were conceived according to the canons of the neo-classical style, of which it embraces both the structure and the sobriety, with a few modern inspirations.
