Russian Gastronomy is Showcased in Monaco
As part of Russian year, the "Seasons of Russian Gastronomy" festival will take place from 18 to 22 February 2015 for the winter season, and then from 12 to 19 June 2015 for the summer season
The "Seasons of Russian Gastronomy" festival will be an opportunity to sample Russian cuisine - prepared by Russian and Monegasque chefs working together - in Monaco's leading restaurants, and learn about contemporary Russia.
The winter season will start on 18 February 2015. Children will be able to take part in patisserie workshops at the Café de Paris, followed by a tea.
On 19 and 20 February, at the Café de Paris, from 7 p.m., the focus will be on traditional Russian cuisine, with tastings and festive activities.
On 21 February 2015, there will be a grand gala dinner, overseen by chefs Joël Garault (from the Vistamar), Jean Claude Brugel (from the Café de Paris) and Konstantin Makridin (Head Chef at the Kremlin). During the dinner, there will be a concert with soloist Vasily Laduk from the Mariinsky Theatre, as well as a fashion show by designer Elena Badmaeva. Russian paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries, on the theme of winter and winter festivals, from the Russian Fine Arts Gallery Monaco, will also be on display.
The summer season will take place from 12 to 19 June 2015.
Six Monegasque chefs (including Jean Claude Brugel, Joël Garault and Marcel Ravin) and six Russian chefs (Ivan and Serguey Berezutsky, Vladimir Mukhin, Andrey Shmakov and others) will take part. Throughout the week, menus designed especially for the occasion will be offered in restaurants in Monaco.
