"Duello Amoroso" on 9 and 11 November at the Monte-Carlo Opera
An imaginary opera based on the work by Handel
The "Duello Amoroso" project arose from a meeting between Nathalie Stutzmann and Jean-Louis Grinda and Stutzmann's wish to create an imaginary opera performance inspired by the work by Handel.
A unique and unusual work in an intimate form, with only two female singers on the stage, a soprano and a contralto - in a "trouser" role.
The aim of "Duello Amoroso" is to portray every aspect of the couple, or more precisely to examine how love evolves: the magical first meeting, the ecstatic idyll, the fusion of bodies and minds, difficult times of doubt and even domestic disputes!
