"Mission Monaco" for Classical Singer Cecilia Bartoli

A unique concert will be presented on 6 March 2013, on the initiative of the Monte-Carlo Opera and the Grimaldi Forum

Over the past few years, thanks to her tireless curiosity, Cecilia Bartoli has made it possible to discover many relatively unknown aspects of Baroque music.

Her passion for seeking out manuscripts hidden away in libraries all over Europe has led to some unique and exciting concerts and recordings.

That's the case once again with her latest album, "Mission," which was released this autumn.  For the first time in her recording career, Cecilia Bartoli has explored the pivotal period between ancient music and Baroque music and has uncovered some hidden treasures, most of which have never been recorded on CD before.

"Mission" is also a portrait of the Italian composer Agostino Steffani (1654–1728), a mysterious character whose eventful life was a mixture of international politics, religious conflict, diplomatic secrets and espionage.

Cecilia Bartoli, who regularly sings in the leading concert halls of Europe, the United States and Japan, will perform this new programme for the audience in Monaco.
