Gennady Golovkin will face Martin Murray on Saturday 21 February 2015 at the Sporting Monte-Carlo
On Saturday 21 February 2015, at the Sporting Monte-Carlo, middleweight stars Gennady Golovkin and Martin Murray will compete against each other for the title of World Champion.
Gennady "GGG" Golovkin, WBA/IBO World Champion, and Martin Murray, Interim WBC Champion, met at the last Monte-Carlo Boxing Bonanza in October 2014.
Originally from Kazakhstan, Gennady Golovkin has fought in Monte-Carlo on two occasions. The Kazakh boxer stopped Nobuhiro Ishida in the 3rd round, earning him the Knockout of the Year Award. He then went on to knock out Osumanu Adama in the 6th round in February 2013.
At 32 years of age, English boxer Martin Murray has a great record. In 2008, he won the "Prize Fighter" contest in the UK. Two years later, he won his first professional title and Commonwealth belt. He then gave an impressive performance at the WBA Intercontinental Championships and went on to win the British title.
The weigh-in will take place on Friday 20 February at 11 a.m. in the Atrium of the Monte-Carlo Casino.
