"The Semianyki Family" at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco

The Russian clowns of the Semianyki Family don't speak, but nevertheless, we can understand everything.

This may be the greatest homage that could be paid to clowns.  It's both traditional and contemporary, immersed in delightful Russian sensibility.  It's rather like watching a family saga, but at the Addams'.

The show recounts the joy, sudden folly and survival strategy of individuals caught up in family dilemmas.

Love and chaos mix paradoxically with a flirtatious mother, who is pregnant, a responsible but alcoholic father, who swings between depression and the desire to live, and their four adorable but mischievous children, who test their limits and drive each other into a corner.

At the Semianykis', the domestic power struggle, which is both funny and crazy, captivates the audience and reaches emotional heights.
