Monaco City Hall is Getting Ready for the "Fête de la Musique" Music Festival

On 21 June 2014, the Principality will be hosting "Les Tambours du Bronx" ("The Drums of the Bronx")

Their first performance was intended to be a one-off event;  despite this, for the past 25 years, they have been performing every evening.

Les Tambours du Bronx was created in 1987 in Varennes-Vauzelles, a town near Nevers (in the Department of Nièvre) in France.

This local Bronx was a district of railway workers and manual labourers;  the drummers sprang from among the machines.  Their rhythm would be the rhythm of the factory and the workshops.  Their motif would be the urban pattern of the streets and their music sprang from their raw material, metal.

Metal barrels and mallets – being radical is to "go to the root of things."
