Sustainable Mobility is Showcased in Monaco
An "Eco Rally" is being organised from San Marino to Monaco from 17 to 19 June 2016
The 11th San Marino – Monte-Carlo Eco Rally consists of a regularity event, which is valid for the F.I.A. Alternative Energies Cup and for the Italian Alternative and Renewable Energies Championships.
The eco-friendly vehicles will compete from 17 June on the San Marino - San Remo route, finishing in Monaco on 19 June 2016.
This international race was created in 2006 and is regulated by the F.I.A. Its aim is to promote vehicles that have little impact on the environment and highlight their performance and versatility.
The Eco Rally is open to racing drivers and amateurs who have an ecological vehicle.
The contestants must follow a Road Book and at must complete at least four "specials" at a constant average speed per hour, with sections that are monitored secretly and recorded by photoelectric cells.
In addition to the environmental aspect, the accent is on security at the wheel and respecting the highway code, as the races are held on roads that are open to traffic.
