Monaco Yacht Show 2012
From 19 to 22 September 2012, the MYS, which is regarded as the most prestigious luxury yachting show in the world, will play host to the leading luxury yachting companies and around a hundred superyachts and megayachts, which will be moored in Port Hercule.
The quintessence of superyachting on show in Monaco
Captains of industry, yacht owners, their representatives and an affluent clientele will all gather from 19 to 22 September for four days of meetings and viewings with the five hundred leading luxury yachting companies from all over the world who will be exhibiting at the show. The greatest shipyards, top yacht designers, the main brokerage agencies and the leading superyacht equipment suppliers will all be in Port Hercule in Monaco to display their latest products and luxury services and their future projects for superyachts.
The organisers of the MYS are predicting another busy year, with new initiatives to spark new deals. As Gaëlle Tallarida, General Director of the show stated: "We are fully aware that the MYS has become an event that many yacht companies can’t afford to miss. Our role is to offer the best working and exhibiting conditions to all participants, so that they only have to focus on their main objective when attending the event – doing business. It takes a whole year to deliver a world-class event like this; we have developed partnerships with very high-end service suppliers to meet the high expectations of the exhibitors and visitors. They must feel in the right place with the right people to do business.”
100 superyachts and megayachts will be on display in Port Hercule, including around 40 new craft
Brokers and shipyards will therefore be unveiling their latest and most spectacular superyachts at the Monaco Yacht Show, with the aim of winning over some new buyers. 100 superyachts and megayachts, from 25 to 90 metres (average length 46 m) and around 40 new craft will be on show for the first time in the world. The MYS team have already confirmed the participation of some exceptional superyachts such as the Mogambo, a 74-metre aluminium megayacht launched by the German shipyard Nobiskrugin in October 2011. One of the stars of the show this year is Better Place (50.5 metres), by the Monegasque shipyard Wally, who have also chosen Monaco for their debut on the international scene. Better Place is the largest carbon fibre sloop in the world and the first yacht built according to RINA Green Start norms. Monte Carlo was made to host "Diamonds are Forever." Named as such by her owner, a fan of James Bond, this elegant 61-metre megayacht was launched by Benetti in November 2011 and is a balanced combination of traditional design and innovative modernism, in the Italian shipyard's signature style. Proclaimed “Sailing Superyacht of the Year” at the 2012 World Superyacht Awards and with five International Superyacht Awards to date, Vertigo will definitely be one of the most awaited superyachts in Monaco (67.2 metres, built by Alloy Yachts).
New Upper Deck Lounge
This year, the MYS is presenting a brand-new 650 m2 reception complex in the heart of the show for holding meetings or entertaining the most prestigious clients in the official restaurant, in the luxurious setting reserved for the show's partners. The Upper Deck Lounge, in the air-conditioned tent of the Parvis Piscine, has replaced the former restaurant and lounge area. It has been styled by interior designer Sabrina Monte-Carlo in association with Italian designer Paola Lenti, the French crystal manufacturer Baccarat and the Opera art gallery. Comfortable meeting areas are available to the exhibitors, where they can meet clients in a confidential setting. The new official sponsor, the German car manufacturer BMW, will be exhibiting its latest BMW 7 Series luxury saloon car, which combines stylish design with luxury and comfort. Swiss watchmaker Ulysse Nardin, an official sponsor for the 4th consecutive year, will present its finest collections of the luxury watches on its stand in the Upper Deck Lounge.
