Getting around Monaco by bus
A bus boat in the port of Monaco
It's called "Camille", and since 2007, it has been crossing the port of Monaco: the Monaco boat bus, operated by Monaco Riviera Navigation, provides a one-kilometer shortcut (compared to walking or driving) between the Principality's two major tourist districts, Monaco-Ville (Le Rocher) and Monte-Carlo. To the south, departure is from Quai Rainier1er, at the end of Quai Antoine1er, while to the north, the landing stage is on Quai des États-Unis, next to the Chicane quay.
The Bateau Bus operates continuously from 8am to 8pm. The journey takes 10 minutes, with departures every 20 minutes. Belonging to the Compagnie des Autobus de Monaco (CAM) network, the line follows the Monegasque bus fare system: a trip costs €2 from the sailor, €1.50 by credit card or via the Monapass app , and the various passes (daily, weekly, monthly) and season tickets operate equally well on the water and in city buses.
A shortcut between the Rock and Monte-Carlo
The Bateau Bus de Monaco boat crossing of Port Hercule offers visitors and tourists an eco-friendly way to get around quickly during their visits. Quai Antoine 1ᵉʳ is located just below Monaco-Ville, a district of the Principality that includes the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, the Cathedral, the Prince's Palace, the Cruise Terminal and the La Digue parking lot. After crossing the Quai des États-Unis, passengers can head for the Auditorium Rainier III, or take two elevators to Monte-Carlo. Place du Casino, shopping streets, historic palaces and gardens await visitors in this prestigious area of the Riviera.
