His aim was to give added value to the country he loved so much and help young Mexicans train in the profession of the culinary arts and the field of music and dance.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR THE RAINIER III OF MONACO ACADEMY OF MUSIC

The TURQUOIS FOUNDATION has extended its activities on the cultural level by granting a scholarship to student musicians from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
A selection is made on the basis of an application to the University of Mexico.  In March of each year, a jury holds auditions for musicians in all categories of instrumental playing and singing.  Three winners are awarded a "Monaco Scholarship."
Thanks to the TURQUOIS Foundation's partnership with the Monaco City Hall, these students benefit from a year of musical training at the Rainier III Academy of Music in Monaco.
They are overseen in individual lessons by a dedicated music teacher, according to their speciality, and also in group theory lessons.  In addition to their instrumental playing, the programme also includes chamber music, tango, orchestra, electro-acoustic music and numerous master classes by international virtuosos.
The students also have access to concerts by the Philharmonic Orchestra and shows held at the Opéra Garnier by the Principality of Monaco.
They regularly perform at many different musical events in the Principality, and also travel, in the company of the other students from the Academy, for prestigious concerts.
Finally, at the end of their training, the three musicians have the opportunity to take the Diploma of Musical Studies (D.E.M.).  This diploma, which is recognised throughout Europe, offers them a chance to continue their musical studies and take entrance examinations to all of the European Higher Conservatoires of Music.
Their entire stay, travel, accommodation, food, training, healthcare and educational outings are funded by the TURQUOIS FOUNDATION.
