The Story
December 1897, Paris. Edmond Rostand is not yet thirty and hasn't written anything for
two years. In desperation, he
offers the great Constant Coquelin a new play, a heroic comedy, in verse, for
the holiday season. The only problem
- it has not yet been written.
Ignoring the whims of the actresses, the demands of his
producers, his wife's jealousy, his best friend's romances and the lack of
enthusiasm of his entire entourage, Edmond begins to write this work, of which
he only has the title - Cyrano de Bergerac.
