The initiative aims to promote awareness about sustainable management of waste and resources, with countries in Europe and around the world holding events during the same week.
The Department of the Environment has signed a Charter, committing the Principality of Monaco to organising waste reduction awareness actions during the week.
Private sector businesses, civil society and the public sector are invited to take part by arranging their own actions, suggesting solutions to waste production based on the three Rs: "Reducing, Re-using, Recycling". Cleaning operations are intended to support this initial message.
Join the 3Rs movement for a week of practical actions at your company, organisation or within your own family, by changing your daily habits to reduce waste, while raising awareness about the issue.
