Expo 2025 Osaka: what can visitors to the Monaco Pavilion expect?

Fecha de publicación: 13/05/2025
The 2025 World Expo in Osaka officially opened on 13 April, and is set to last until 13 October. As every year, the Monaco Pavilion has been designed to showcase the very best that the Principality has to offer.

Back in 1873, during the reign of Prince Charles III, Monaco made its debut at a universal exhibition alongside the greatest cities in the world at the Vienna World's Fair.

Expo 2025 Osaka’s theme is “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”, with the Principality having opted to focus on “Connecting Lives”.
The Monegasque pavilion sits in the middle of a garden, and is designed to highlight Monaco’s environmental commitments.

What is there to see for visitors to the pavilion?

  • An immersive, interactive space with items to touch and imagery and poetry to admire. Evocative images of Monaco are displayed on large vertical windows, alongside haiku poems.
  • The Monaco Green Lab, where a tree stands surrounded by a typical Monegasque ecosystem, embodying the Principality’s commitment to sustainability.  There are also interactive consoles enabling visitors to learn more about Monaco’s innovative environmental projects, and animated books that bring to life the visionary ambitions of Prince Albert I and H.S.H. Prince Albert II.
  • An immersive garden blending Japanese and Mediterranean landscapes together in harmony, where visitors can admire the Human-Wildlife installation, a fun and fascinating experience.
  • Flowers for Bees, a space inspired by bee hives that offers captivating insights into these important insects, and what Monaco is doing to protect them.
  • And last but not least, the Cathedral: a tribute to the seas and oceans, where Mediterranean marine species are brought to life on screens in a magical display of light, colour, and floating forms.
