Monaco Energy Boat Challenge

Monaco, a marine innovation incubator spearheading efforts to protect the environment From Tuesday 6 to Saturday 10 July 2021, Bay of Monaco

Organised by the Yacht Club de Monaco alongside the Prince Albert II Foundation and the Union Internationale Motonautique, this event showcases the latest alternative clean propulsion systems. For the second successive year, long-standing event partners Iqos and Credit Suisse are being joined by automotive manufacturer BMW and YPI (Yachting Partners International).

A total of 31 teams from 24 universities and 17 nationalities have already confirmed they will be taking part in the three classes. Countries represented at this eighth edition of the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge include Italy, France, the Netherlands, Monaco, Portugal, the UK, Greece, and Germany, along with the UAE, Indonesia, China, and Peru. The only event of its kind anywhere in the world, the Challenge puts scientists, academics, future engineers, inventors, and yachting and energy industry professionals in the spotlight.

Today, it's still possible to be a pioneer thanks to new energy sources and new technologies that protect the environment. The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge is an example. The organisers and participants are writing a new chapter of history.

For explorer Mike Horn, this is an essential event:  "Organising events like this one to discuss and progress ideas is to make dreams come true. When you are inspired, you inspire others and that is the start of a better future."
