Grand Venetian Ball in Monaco
From 3-5 February, the Carnival of Venice is coming to the Principality – dress up in one of 1,500 period costumes!
"Venice in Monte-Carlo," an event inspired by the grand Venetian balls, will take place under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, on the theme of Love. This will be a major first for Monaco, and an opportunity to inaugurate the season of prestigious carnivals throughout the world.
Inspired by Venetian secular traditions and costumes, this celebration will also focus on culture. Numerous artists, dancers and acrobats will provide entertainment at this charity evening event and will take part in a parade around the Principality in Baroque costumes worthy of Don Giovanni & Casanova.
The programme is as follows:
- On 3 February, Mr. Georges Marsan, Mayor of Monaco, will receive Mr. Luigi Brugnaro and Mr. Cristiano Gallo at the City Hall, who are, respectively, Mayor of Venice and Ambassador of Italy to Monaco.
- On the evening of 3 February, at 7 p.m. at the Yacht Club of Monaco, the Open Party will take place, with artists and acrobats in period costumes.
- On 4 February, at 7.30 p.m., the Grand Venetian Ball will be held in the magnificent Salle d' Etoiles, following a gastronomic dinner.
- On 5 February, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., a Parade of fifty or so artists in period Venetian costumes will take place in the Place du Casino and at the Café de Paris, where hot chocolate will be offered to children and people dressed in costumes on the theme of love.
