Christmas 2013 at the Métropole Shopping Centre, Monte-Carlo

Special opening times and Father Christmas will be present throughout December 2013 at the Métropole Shopping Centre

As the festive season approaches, exceptionally, the traders in the Métropole Shopping Centre will be open on Sundays 8, 15, 22 and 29 December, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Father Christmas will also be present and will await adults and children on Level +2 of the Métropole Shopping Centre for a souvenir photo until 24 December.

As every year, from 1 to 24 December, children will be able to come and post their letter to Father Christmas on Level +2 of the Métropole Shopping Centre.

In partnership with the Monegasque Postal Service, the Stamp Issuing Office, Pix & Associates and Graphic Service, they will receive a reply from Father Christmas within 72 hours.

As part of the "Action Innocence Christmas Trees" campaign, which will take place at the Hôtel de Paris on Tuesday 10 December, the Métropole Shopping Centre has created a Christmas tree, which will be sold at auction.

The Christmas tree is 2.25-metres (7.38 ft) high and is decorated with 206 baubles, 92 of which are made of hand-painted glass, 40 novelty characters and figurines and 50 flowers.  The lighting is comprised of 84-metre (275.6 ft) LED garlands, with 700 LED lights and 140 flashing lights.
