The Monaco Boys Choir is touring the East coast of the United States until 30 July 2014
The Monaco Boys Choir (Les Petits Chanteurs de Monaco) began its American tour on 9 July with a televised performance on Fox Business Network programme “The Willis Report”.
The New York leg of the tour included, notably, a private concert at the United Nations, at the invitation of Monaco’s Permanent Representation, and two public concerts organised by Monaco’s Consulate General and the Monaco Government Tourist Office at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine (the largest cathedral in the world) on 11 July, and at the Alliance Française’s annual Bastille Day celebration on 13 July.
The Consulate General and the Tourist Authority also invited the young singers to an American-style picnic in Central Park, with pizza, ice-cream and an initiation into American football, a well-deserved reward for their efforts.
After New York, the choir will visit Washington, D.C., Charlotte, Atlanta, Orlando, Port St. Lucie, Palm Beach and Miami.
The tour has been organised with support from the various representations of the Prince’s Government in the United States: the Embassy of Monaco in Washington, the Consulate General and the Monaco Government Tourist Office in New York, and the honorary consuls in Atlanta and Miami.
