In 2009, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo celebrated the centenary of the Ballets Russes in Monaco, looking to pay tribute in the most "astonishing" way in order to remain faithful to Diaghilev's famous command to Cocteau. Over more than a year, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo surprised audiences with a series of new and resolutely creative events. The Company is now reviving that thrilling and light-hearted spirit with four ballets that echo the legendary figure of Nijijnsky , with the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Kazuki Yamada:

"Daphnis et Chloé" by Jean-Christophe Maillot
"Le Spectre de la Rose" by Marco Goecke,
"Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune", created by Jeroen Verbruggen
"Petrouchka", created by Johan Inger
