A gala concert in the Grimaldi Forum Monaco to pay tribute to Sister Emmanuelle
Next December 3th at 7 PM the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic's violinist Zhang Zhang and several of her talented and equally committed colleagues will give the fifth in a series of benefit concerts.
Zhang Zhang's ensemble entitled ZHANGOMUSIQ expresses through music the commitment of its members to fraternity throughout the world and the well being of generations to come.
The group's most recent concert took place last July at the elegant Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat. Each of its performances is an occasion to support a specific humanitarian project. Proceeds from the December 3rd concert will go to a project for providing drinking water to village communities in Africa.
France's Sister Emmanuelle felt a particular attachment to Monaco and was often invited to the Principality by various associations that support her efforts on behalf of humanitarian causes. It was during one such meeting with Zhang Zhang in Monaco and another in Callian that the idea of ZHANGOMUSIQ was conceived.
The dedication of this concert to Sister Emmanuelle's memory just one year after her death is the natural expression of a desire to remain faithful to and support the human values that she embodied as well as her many efforts on behalf of the world's underprivileged people, especially children.
The performance will cover a vast range of musical styles: classical, blues, bossa nova, samba, gypsy music, etc… all designed to appeal to a large and varied audience
