Christmas Lights Transform the Place du Casino in Monte-Carlo

Publication date: 27/11/2014
The lighting ceremony held each year by the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer will take place on Saturday 6 December at 6 p.m.

Every year, the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer continues the Christmas tradition.  This year, on 6 December at 6 p.m., it is organising a lighting ceremony for the Christmas decorations in the Place du Casino.  The Place du Casino will be decorated in white, silver and gold, with the traditional Christmas trees.

The decorations, which will remain in place until 6 January 2015, are impressive – 100 white-flocked 9-metre-high Christmas trees, more than 4 miles of garlands, 600 starflash bulbs and 1,700 square metres of white wadding, all illuminated by 70 spotlights.

The Monte-Carlo Pavilions will also be on show.  This new "pop-up" place will be decorated with two Christmas trees of more than 8 metres in height, situated in the Boulingrins Gardens.

The Square Beaumarchais will also sparkle with a thousand twinkling lights, so the 2014 festive season will mark the beginning of a new Monte-Carlo!
