EWWR Initiatives in Monaco

Publication date: 21/11/2022
Monaco is taking part in the European Week for Waste Reduction for the fourth consecutive year! There are a host of actions and initiatives in the Principality as part of this event, which began three days ago and continues until 27 November.

The EWWR invites us to rethink our usual consumer habits and the way we use textiles, and to discover more sustainable solutions instead. The theme of this 2022 edition is "Circular and Sustainable Textiles", with the slogan "Waste is out of fashion!"

To mark EWWR, Monaco is doing its bit for the planet by organising just over 75 initiatives, a dozen or more of which are open to the public throughout the week, including: collection of clothes, creation of an XXL format textile fresco, treasure hunt, and plenty of other workshops and activities to discover at:

The Monaco Government Tourist and Convention Authority is playing its part in this European initiative, and its own CSR department organised an internal collection of second-hand clothes. As a result, an estimated 125 kg of textiles will be donated to the Red Cross!

You too can take advantage of this week to give your old clothes a new lease of life by donating them to charity!

Ready, set, recycle!
