Formula 1 and football come together for charity!

Publication date: 16/05/2023
The event is a tradition in May. Organised during the Formula 1 Grand Prix week, the 30th World Stars Football Match between Formula 1 drivers and soccer champions will take place at the Stade Louis II on Tuesday 23 May at 7 pm!

Ever wanted to see Charles Leclerc dribbling past Novak Djokovic on a football pitch? Well in the Principality, you can! The Stade Louis-II, home of AS Monaco Football Club throughout the season and the venue for the Herculis athletics meeting every summer, hosts Formula 1 drivers and soccer champions for an annual charity match, held during Grand Prix week.

It's a chance for sports fans and anyone with an interest to see an unprecented match-up between Star Team for the Children MC and All Stars Drivers! The former will include athletes from various disciplines including Lisa Battaglia, local jetski champion, Novak Djokovic, the tennis champion, and former soccer stars such as Monegasques Jérôme Rothen, Jérémy Ménez, Flavio Roma, and Claude Puel, who made 600 professional appearances for the Rouge et Blancs before coaching AS Monaco to the French league title in 2000.

For the drivers, the local hero Charles Leclerc, Spain's Fernando Alonso, and France's Pierre Gasly are all set to play! The team isn't just made up of Formula 1 stars, as moto GP world champion Pecco Bagnaia will also be taking part.
Funds raised by this unique event will go to the charity "Star Team for the children", whose President is H.S.H. Prince Albert II. Head to the Stade Louis II on 23 May at 7 pm for the match!
