Monegasque gastronomy in the limelight this autumn

Publication date: 26/09/2023
The theme for this autumn in Monaco is gastronomy, with the third Festival des Etoilés Monte-Carlo.

The brightest culinary stars are set to align in the Principality! And once again they will be illuminating the Festival des Etoilés Monte-Carlo, a special event organised by Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer that showcases the very best of Monegasque gastronomic expertise.

The principle is simple. Monaco’s very own Michelin-starred chefs pair up with acclaimed colleagues from around the world, with each duo using all their culinary skill to create incredible original menus.

This year will see four brand new teams producing fabulous food between 29 September and 3 November, before the event climaxes with a special gala dinner on 11 November, during which Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer’s star-laden team of top chefs will cook together to the delight of the audience.

The Festival des Etoilés Monte-Carlo gets under way on 29 and 30 September at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, with Marcel Ravin and Yeo Sheng Xiong and Wan Khai Lun. For the last ten years, the two talented chefs have worked closely with Julien Royer, named restaurateur of the year in 2022.

On 13 and 14 October, Dominique Lory from Le Grill at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo will team up with Jason Atherton, who boasts a host of Michelin stars, for two exceptional evenings of cooking.
Then on 27 and 28 October the action will move to the prestigious Louis XV-Alain Ducasse, where resident chef Emmanuel Pilon will welcome Amaury Bouhours, chef at the two Michelin-starred restaurant Le Meurice Alain Ducasse. The collaboration promises to be an exciting one, with both cooks committed to a contemporary vision of fine cuisine.

At the Pavyllon Monte-Carlo at the Hôtel Hermitage, on 3 November, chef Yannick Alléno will be joined by Sven Wassmer, one of the world’s youngest chefs ever to earn three coveted Michelin stars.

Finally, on 11 November, the Gala of the Festival des Etoilés de Monte-Carlo will provide a fitting climax to this exceptional event, with a dinner composed of signature dishes made by each of the chefs, all in the majestic surroundings of the Salle Empir at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo!
