The first "Russian Gala" will take place on 7 September in the Salle des Princes, Grimaldi Forum Monaco
This "Russian Gala" will bring the glorious tradition of Serge Diaghilev's Ballets Russes alive again. At this special evening, the audience is invited to discover (or rediscover) the Russian passion for the art of dance through a wide variety of classical and contemporary performances. The aim of this event is also to strengthen cultural links between the Principality of Monaco and Russia.
Meet the stars from the great Russian ballet companies
At this performance, which will take place on Friday 7 September at 8 pm, stars from some of the great Russian theatres will appear together on stage - the Bolshoi (from Moscow), the Mariinsky (from St. Petersburg) and the Mikhailovsky (also from St. Petersburg).
The programme for this gala is a real "best of" pas de deux from the great classics, including Bizet's "Carmen," Drigo's "The Talisman," Strauss' "Vienna Waltz," Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" and Mussorgsky's "The Waltz."
