L’Été Danse !

Del jueves, 15 a las 19:00, y hasta el sábado, 17 de julio de 2021
For this 2021 edition of the "L’Été Danse !" festival of dance, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo is set for two series of performances that will demonstrate how dance is truly a living art. Thursday 15, Friday 16 and Saturday 17 July 2021, at 7 pm Grimaldi Forum Monaco - Salle des Princes

The festival will get under way from 15 to 17 July with two creations by Mimoza Koike and Julien Guérin, both former members of the Ballets de Monte-Carlo.
After a difficult period for the choreographical arts, it is more vital than ever to support new creations. True to his policy of bringing through new talents, adopted over three decades ago, Jean-Christophe Maillot has given carte blanche to these young choreographers, whose sensitive world poses thoughtful questions about our relationship with the modern world.

From 22 to 24 July, the dancers of the company will take us to the shores of the Mediterranean, accompanied on stage by musicians steeped in the traditions and identity of the region.

Two pieces will take us on a journey to foreign lands.

The first, In Memoriam by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, was created in 2004 for Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo (two years earlier, the young Belgian choreographer of Moroccan heritage received the  Nijinski Award for Best Emerging Choreographer at the Monaco Dance Forum, a distinction that served to launch his career).
The superb Corsican singing group A Filetta will lend their vocal talents to accompany the dancers' movements.
The second piece performed will be Core Meu by Jean-Christophe Maillot. Acclaimed by audiences keen to join the dancers at every performance, the ballet will once again be an opportunity to hear Antonio Castrignano & Taranta Sounds, who gave a new face to La Tarentelle des Pouilles.

With these two highlights, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo will breathe a summer breeze to celebrate the return of live performances.
