The 37th Monte-Carlo International Swimming Meeting will be the first stage of the "Mare Nostrum Tour".
In 1992, Canet-en-Roussillon laid the foundations for a tour by combining its own meeting with the sister event held in Barcelona, to create the "Grand
Prix Méditérranéen". Monaco joined them in 1994, and the "Mare Nostrum" was born. It is the only tour of its kind on the competitive swimming calendar, and now brings together large numbers of international swimmers, offering an outstanding technical event for coaches with three top class meetings in the space of eight days.
