Following the success of the first four
events, the Yacht Club of Monaco plans to develop its solar-powered motorboat
event by extending it to all other clean energies. From Thursday 12 July to Saturday 14 July, Baie de Monaco
For over a century, Monaco has been a
pioneer in motor boating. In 1904,
it was already organising the first motorboat meetings, attracting manufacturers
from all over the world with their innovations in the field of internal
combustion engines. 112 years
later, the Principality is continuing this momentum.
When the younger generation dedicates itself
to new technologies, this gives rise to some promising projects. The bay of Port Hercule will therefore be
the setting for an amazing show - the Monaco Solar Electric Challenge, a race for
solar-powered racers. Designed and
driven by students from international universities, these revolutionary boats represent
a future that combines environmental protection with innovation. This event organised by the Yacht Club of
Monaco is part of the wish to continue a commitment that is important for the
Principality – preparing a better future today.
The aim is very clearly defined – to showcase
eco-responsible power to the greatest possible number of people via a sports
meeting. "This event is an opportunity for us to raise awareness among the
general public. Sustainable energy
exists - it is up to us to demonstrate its practical applications,"
explained engineer Marco Casiraghi, who initiated the project.
