Nobu Comes to the Fairmont Monte-Carlo

Nobuyuki "Nobu" Matsuhisa, chef and owner of the Nobu restaurants, will be in the Principality until 9 June

Born and raised in Saitama, Japan, Nobu served a particularly rigorous apprenticeship in a respected sushi bar in Tokyo before opening a sushi bar in Peru.

Since then, his fusion food, which blends traditional Japanese cuisine with South American ingredients, with subtle mixes of spices and flavors, has become renowned all over the world.

In 1987, he opened his own restaurant, "Matsuhisa" in Beverly Hills, which soon became fashionable, frequented by Hollywood stars such as Robert De Niro, who invited Nobu to open a restaurant on Manhattan Island in New York.

In August 1993, he opened the Nobu restaurant as a partnership.  This was followed by other Nobu restaurants in Tokyo, Milan, London and Honolulu, as well as Beijing, Moscow, Dubai and Budapest.

Today, there are Nobu has 26 restaurants around the world …

His favorite dishes include Black cod yuzu miso, Wagyu beef tartare and Snow Crab with a spicy sauce.
