The program for December 2013 reflects Jean-Christophe Maillot's vision more than ever before.
First of all, the Salle Garnier at the Monte-Carlo Opera will be the setting for the festivities. On 11 December 2013, the Princess Grace Academy is offering a Surprise Evening organized by Luca Masala, based on Jean-Christophe Maillot's repertoire, to mark his 20th anniversary as head of the Ballets de Monte-Carlo.

On 14 and 15 December 2013, Monaco Dance Forum is offering "Solo in Time," a breathtaking performance by Savion Glover, who is regarded as one of the best tap dancers in the world. His metal-capped shoes will be ringing out at the Opéra Garnier in a perfect and wildly enthusiastic blend of tap dancing and flamenco.
On 18 and 19 December 2013, also as part of the Monaco Dance Forum, the Opéra Garnier will be hosting "On the Edge." Diana Vishneva, principal dancer of the Mariinsky Ballet, who has won acclaim on the leading international stages, will perform "Woman in a Room," a solo role created for her by Carolyn Carlson.
Then she will perform alongside Bernice Coppieters and Gaëtan Morlotti in "Switch," a work created for the three dancers by Jean-Christophe Maillot
From 26 December 2013 to 5 January 2014, the highlight of the season will be"Casse-Noisette Compagnie" at the Grimaldi Forum, a new work by Jean-Christophe Maillot, based on the Nutcracker.
This new, large-scale show tells the story of Clara, whose dreams magically come true. The ballet also reflects Jean-Christophe Maillot's own story. Arriving in Monaco in 1993, he also dreamed of creating an artistic world.
