The Climate Group is organizing a gala dinner at the Hôtel de Paris on 25 March 2014 to mark its 10th anniversary
A major environmental organization
The Climate Group is a non-profit making organization founded in 2004 with the support of Tony Blair.
Its aim is to promote technology and policies that respect the environment and expand the market for responsible, innovative technology. The Climate Group also works to reduce greenhouse gas emissions throughout the world. The organization aims to create solutions to climate change that will remain compatible with economic growth.
The Climate Group is undertaking numerous activities at an international level, including the LED program, which encourages the use of LED lighting in major cities to reduce energy costs and energy consumption. This program is already in place in New York, London, Hong Kong, Sydney and Calcutta. To stimulate the electric vehicles market, the Climate Group launched the EV20 program, which offers partnerships between car manufacturers, public electricity services, financial institutions and governments.
The organization is also working to encourage States and regions to recognize and take responsibility for their essential role in combating climate change, pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. It proposes declarations and partnerships between development countries to create projects linked to sustainable development.
