Monte-Carlo Polo Cup - Second Cartier Trophy
This year, the Monte-Carlo Polo Cup will take place from 3 to 6 July 2014
Following the success of the first event in 2013, the 2nd Monte-Carlo Polo Cup, organised by the Monte-Carlo Polo Club, will take place from 3 to 6 July.
Four teams of three players each will compete for the Cartier Trophy.
The teams from Monaco and Ireland, who took part in the tournament last year, will return to the polo ground at the Devens stadium in Beausoleil. Switzerland and the United States will be taking part for the first time.
Programme of events open to the public:
Friday 4 July
12 p.m.: Parade of Horses in the Place du Casino, by the participating teams;
5.30 p.m.: Beausoleil – opening ceremony of the tournament on the polo ground at the Devens stadium with the inauguration of the VIP area;
6 p.m.: Start of the polo tournament.
Saturday 5 July
5.30 p.m. – 7 p.m.: Polo tournament
Sunday 6 July
5.30 p.m.: Hat competition on the theme of "Summer Flowers."
Special Pegasus exhibition by the sculptor Mateo Mornar.
Exhibition of sculptures by the Brazilian artist Marcos Marin.
6 p.m. – 7 p.m. : Beausoleil – Polo tournament semi-final
7 p.m. – 8 p.m.: Final of the Monte-Carlo Polo Cup.
8 p.m.: Prize-giving ceremony and cocktail party to close the event; hat competition on the theme of "summer flowers," prize-giving.
9.30 p.m.: Gala Dinner (booking essential) organised by the Monte-Carlo Polo Cup at the Monte-Carlo beach featuring soprano Délia Noble, followed by a show by Federico Soldati (young Italian artist and mentalist).
