On 3 November, as part of its Great Season, the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra will perform Felix Mendelssohn's Elijah.Sunday 3 November 2019, at 6 pm Auditorium Rainier III

"Are his words not like fire?". This is the first line of Elijah, opus 70, a work by Felix Mendelssohn first performed in Birmingham in 1846. Now, it is to be performed again by the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Kazuki Yamada.

The vocal sections will be performed by soprano Keri Fuge, mezzo-soprano Karen Cargill, tenor Robert Murray and baritone-bass Matthew Brook. They will be accompanied throughout the concert by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra Chorus

The Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Chorus will perform the same concert at Birmingham's Symphony Hall on 7 November.
