Paolo Conte embarks on a new world tour in 2021, and after four years away he is returning to the Principality!Friday 6 August 2021, at 8.30 pm Opéra de Monte-Carlo - Salle Garnier

Paolo Conte was not always a singer, pianist or composer. After obtaining a law degree at the University of Parma, Conte started working as an assistant solicitor with his father, while pursuing musical studies where he learned to play the trombone, the vibraphone and the piano. He decided to form a jazz band with his brother on drums and was soon spotted by a music producer who launched his solo career. Paolo became famous in the sixties thanks to the success of "Azzurro", which he wrote for Adriano Celentano. In 1974, he hung up his lawyer's robes for good to focus on his music and share his gravelly voice with Italian audiences. Ten years on, he achieved global stardom with his self-titled album Paolo Conte, and followed up that success with numerous international tours, a string of albums, and appearances at leading jazz festivals such as Montreux, Montreal, and Juan Les Pins.

In November 2018, he released the album Live in Caracall, a recording of a concert performed in Rome to mark the fiftieth anniversary of "Azzurro".
