1931, southern French Indochina. A woman lives alone with her two children, Joseph and Suzanne (20 and 16) on the Cambodian coast, near the port of Ram. They have an old Citroën B12. The mother played the piano in a cinema for 15 years, and has saved up to buy her own plot of land, which turns out to be unfarmable. Every year, it is flooded by the sea, which the mother doggedly refers to as the Pacific Ocean. Battling the elements, she eventually persuades the authorities and local peasant farmers to build a dam.Tuesday 12 November 2024, at 8 pm, Théâtre Princesse Grace
