Festival of the Sea at the Yacht Club of Monaco

Saturday 25 June

Anchors aweigh for St. Peter’s Day!

Everyone together at sea – that’s the theme of this one-day summer event held in honour of St. Peter, the patron saint of fisherfolk.

Waterslides, paddle boarding, rowing, sailing, an introduction to diving, a photographic exhibition of marine archaeology … a full programme of introductory sessions will be offered throughout the day, with an opportunity to try some aquatic activities.  The highlight will be a nautical parade between Monaco’s two ports, preceded by a blessing at sea.

Traditional fishing boats, keelboats and monotypes under 18 metres … all types of craft, both sailing boats and motor boats, from the Principality and neighbouring towns, are invited to take part in the display.  For its first official outing of the season, Tuiga, the flagship of the Yacht Club of Monaco, will join in the festivities.

From 12.30 p.m., a long table will be set up on the Quai Louis II, where a lunch of Monegasque specialities, prepared by chef Christian Pumail, will be provided for the participants in this grand parade.  This eagerly awaited event promises to be highly enjoyable.  Musical entertainment will be provided, with sea shanties by the choir of the Rainier III Academy of Music and Theatre.
