"Klinikè by Drifters" exhibition, based on a suggestion by Gino GianuizziFrom Monday 23 July to Thursday 13 September 2018, Galerie L'Entrepôt

From 23 July to 13 September, Daniel Boeri presents the exhibition “Klinikè”, a project presented for the very first time by DRIFTERS.

DRIFTERS is an artistic duo which was born in London in 2014 with the aim of forging bonds between people and space. Valentina Miorandi and Sandrine Nicoletta Chatelain are two artists whose careers are built on art in public spaces and set design. With this collaboration, they are taking more of a curatorial interest in their work.

DRIFTERS encourage the creative power of participants by initiating a dialogue between individual imaginations, culture and social structures. Their multidisciplinary work depicts social realities through a variety of approaches.

This project put forward by Gino Gianuizzi is a collection of works in different formats: texts, videos, installations, photographs, performance sculptures, etc. “Klinikè” is derived from the Greek word for tending the sick. In tending to a patient, one comes closer to the other person and at the same time closer to their condition, putting oneself at the same level… almost in the same skin. Klinikè mixes artificial skin and the sense of touch by invoking Luce Irigaray’s Touch and Benjamin Bratton’s Sensitivity.

This is an exhibition which explores the continuous process of hybridisation between humans and cyborgs, inevitably tackling the traditional image of the human body and its relationship with technology. Skin and touch are the common denominators in this project; the area explored is touch and the perception of the body in space.
