Ton Koopman is a leading figure in the
Baroque revival and is considered to be one of the most enthusiastic advocates
of the performance of ancient music.
His recent meeting at the Berlin Philharmonic
with Avi Avital, the mandolin virtuoso with exceptional charisma, is etched in
