of documentary films and awareness-raising workshops, to promote the

The Principality's commitment to preserving marine ecosystems is
enshrined in its history, from the creation of the Oceanographic Institute in
1911 by Prince Albert I of Monaco to the founding of the Prince Albert II of
Monaco Foundation in 2006. This desire
to better understand the threats that the environment of our planet is facing,
and in particular our oceans, is once again central to the Monegasque agenda,
with the 2nd Monaco Ocean Week, which now includes:
The Monaco Blue Initiative (MBI), to be held on 8 and 9 April in Edinburgh, Scotland, on
three main themes:
the synergies between aquaculture and marine protected areas;
the relationship between marine protected areas and climate
change;
new prospects
for the Blue Economy in the northern seas.
Monaco Ocean Week, from 9 to 14 April in Monaco
This event, organised in partnership with Rolex, is an
opportunity for local stakeholders and international organisations based in
Monaco to share their experience, deepen discussions and take action on
conserving the marine environment and the sustainable development of a
"blue" economy.
