Known for his work inspired by fairy tales, which he revives in all their depth and darkness, Jean-Christophe Maillot is taking a bold new step with Œil pour œil, created in 2001. Here, the narration is even darker and morer sardonic. The fairy tale spills onto the seedy backstreets of a detective thriller. With choreography based on a novella by Jean-Marie Laclavetine, written specially for this ballet, Œil pour œil has all the trappings of a film noir: crime, revenge, corruption, the underworld, sex, predators… Choregraphy and direction: Jean-Christophe MAILLOT based on a novella by Jean-Marie LACLAVETINE
