Nathalie Dessay in Concert in Monaco on 14 November 2014
The soprano Nathalie Dessay will play Cleopatra in Handel's Opera "Julius Caesar in Egypt"
The coming together of soprano Natalie Dessay and conductor Emmanuelle Haïm, plus Handel's music, is one of those fruitful combinations that the great stages cannot ignore.
The Queen of Egypt's many-faceted personality was a particularly rich source of inspiration for Handel.
Under the baton of Emmanuelle Haïm and accompanied by Le Concert d’Astrée, Handel's Baroque bel canto, sung in its all glory by Natalie Dessay and countertenor Christophe Dumaux, will resound beneath the gilded splendor of the Salle Garnier.
