Discover an immersive and interactive experience! Take on the role of a roving reporter and set off on a mission to explore the polar regions! This new exhibition includes five thematic areas spread over two levels. Learn about the poles and their wildlife, and the men and women who populate and explore them. From the floating sea ice and polar bears of the north, to the emperor penguins and vast ice deserts of the south, this exhibition features the iconic photography of Greg Lecoeur, portraying the incredible biodiversity to be found in the Arctic and Antarctic regions, both essential to the health and balance of our planet. Against a backdrop of breathtaking giant decors, "Fragile Polar Worlds" aims to document, inspire, and raise awareness about the important of protecting our oceans. Organised in collaboration with the Oceanographic Institute of Monaco.

As part of commemorations marking the centenary of Princer Rainier III (1923-2023), the Oceanographic Museum presents its new permanent exhibition, "The Prince and the Mediterranean". Visitors to the exhibition, the Oceanographic Institute's tribute to the unshakeable connection between Princer Rainier III and the ocean, and the Mediterranean Sea in particular, will step aboard his ship, Deo Juvante II. Guided by the voice of H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie, they will navigate through four fascinating spaces, each exploring a different facet of the Prince and his passion for all things aquatic.

The theme of this year's Christmas Village, organised by Monaco City Hall, will be "Rainier III, a Passionate Prince". There will be specially created decorations for all ages to enjoy, showcasing Prince Rainier III's greatest passions, namely the sea, the arts, wildlife, and sport. Visitors can look forward to magical parades, mascots, live concerts and stage shows in the evenings. An exciting new addition this year: illuminated fountain displays on the swimming pool of the Stade Nautique Rainier III. New Year's Eve's entertainment will include an evening of music and dancing, with a DJ and grand fountain and light show.

On the wishes of HSH the Sovereign Prince Albert II of Monaco, the Principality's Nativity Trail was founded in 2014 in Monaco's Old Town, to bring festive Christmas cheer and convey the culture and values embodied by nativity scenes from every continent. Each year, nativity scenes are displayed all along the trail, set up in specially installed chalets and in the various State buildings in the Old Town district.

In addition to the Christmas Village on the theme "Rainier III, a Passionate Prince", a huge area devoted to adventure and sporting activities will be created on the southern embankment of the Port of Monaco. There will be lots of things to do, including a rope park, climbing wall, and an obstacle course inspired by the popular TV game show "Ninja Warrior". Finally, something never seen before in the Principality: a 180 metre-long rope slide, that will see intrepid adventurers launch themselves from the highest diving board of the Stade Nautique Rainier and soar over the Route de la Piscine.

2023/2024 season - La Compagnie - LA VALSE & L'ENFANT ET LES SORTILÈGES, Balanchine & Maillot. "L’Enfant et les Sortilèges" (The Child and the Spells) is an opera created by Ravel in 1925 in Monte-Carlo, to a libretto by Colette (incidentally, this year marks the 150th anniversary of her birth). It was one of H.S.H. Prince Rainier III's favourite operas. This new interpretation by Jean-Christophe Maillot brings together 240 artists on stage for a larger-than-life ensemble performance, which Ravel himself had originally conceived as a forerunner of the modern musical.

The cream of international Optimist team racing will be in the Principality in January for the 14th for the Monaco Optimist Team Race. A total of 72 competitors aged under 14 will be representing 17 nations. Unlike fleet regattas, the races will take the form of duels between four-person teams. Altogether, some 153 legs will take place in the waters off Monaco, each requiring great tactical skill and finesse. To prepare for the competition and perfect their team racing abilities, the competitors already in situ can take part in an International Clinic (8 to 10 January), under the supervision of the international World Sailing judge and referee, Chris Atkins.

A journey into the surreal, epic and darkly funny world of intensive care. This is the gripping, amusing, blistering account of a talented young actor, who suddenly and brutally finds herself at death's door. A simple case of the flu takes a turn for the worse, and the young woman is rushed to hospital. With her heart failing and her life in the balance, the medical team decide to place her on a cardiopulmonary bypass machine. On stage, the machine and the medical team are portrayed by a nurse/musician. So strange for a heart to fail at the tender age of 29...

With 14 mountain passes to negotiate along 17 special stages taking in five French départements, the route of this inaugural stage of the 2024 FIA World Rally Championship is taking place at a higher latitude - and thus a higher altitude. The Organising Committee of the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM) has opted for a return to the Hautes-Alpes, and more specifically Gap, host town from 2014 to 2021, with the hope that the drivers will have to contend with even snowier conditions than those encountered in previous years.

They are said to have fabulous powers: visions of the past, healing powers, stores of information, sources of energy, and so on. Their claims origins are no less extraordinary, ranging from Atlantis to outer space. More mundanely, it was until recently thought they may date from the pre-Columbian world, and the Aztec or Mixtec cultures. But where do these skulls really come from, and do they truly have incredible powers?

The phrase "mental load" was coined by sociologists in the 1980s to describe the cognitive aspect of physical labour. The concept was quickly seized on by feminists to highlight the unrecognised burden that falls on women caring for their families. Mental load is now understood to refer to the psychological, cognitive, and emotional implications of looking after others, particularly young children, and the stress placed on women, who bear an unequal share of responsibility for care.
