As part of the "Social, Capital" cycle, Monaco Audiovisual Archives are screening "Heaven's Gate" (French title "La Porte du Paradis")
In 1870, students graduating from Harvard celebrate the promise of a bright future with style and panache.
Twenty years later, in Wyoming, the paths of two of these promising students seem destined to cross again.
Now Sheriff of Johnson County, James Averill sees his authority threatened by an association of livestock producers. Among them is his old friend Illy, who has become a cynical and lazy man.
The association stigmatises European immigrants who have moved to these virgin lands. Secretly supported by the Federal Government, the livestock producers have drawn up a list of immigrants to be killed as an example to others.
