Cassel, daughter of retired actor Jean-Pierre Cassel, is a vibrant personality whose curiosity and passion for new influences has seen her deliberately step outside her comfort zone, spending long months away from home and her cosy Paris cocoon.
From her travels, HollySiz has returned with beats blended with Hip Hop, hypnotic flows and claps heralding guitar riffs straight from a garage in Brooklyn, where she met The Rapture's Luke Jenner, icon of electro-rock, as well as the band The Skins. A meeting that was crucial in shaping her new opus. Her time in Havana inspired ballads carried by choirs with new voices, intermingled with epic guitar work. Finally, seeking a return to a more organic style, HollySiz chose to complete her album on the Basque Coast, between the rocks and the titanic waves.
Rather Than Talking is an invitation to transform every experience into a journey outside your own comfort zone. The album is written like a burst of adrenaline. Eschewing big speeches, HollySiz simply invites us to join her for an exultation, on 9 November at the Espace Léo Ferré.
