Monte-Carlo Spring Arts Festival: harpsichord concert with Olivier Baumont, performing pieces by Jacques Champion de Chambonnières, Louis Couperin, Jean-Philippe Rameau, François Couperin and Claude BalbastreSaturday 10 April 2021, at 2.30 pm Musée océanographique de Monaco

Olivier Baumont is among the greatest living harpsichordists. For this concert, he will be performing some of the delicate, ornamented works heard in the great halls of Versailles, covering two centuries of French music from the age of Molière to the end of the Ancien Régime. The pieces are evocative of dancing, singing, and a daintily colourful poetry worthy of the paintings of Le Brun and Watteau.
